Engaging older people in sport and physical activity is the focus of a new resource targeting sporting, recreation and fitness clubs to help them reach out and involve seniors.
Produced by COTA Victoria and funded by Sport and Recreation Victoria, the resource aims to connect older people as participants, volunteers and spectators in sport and leisure programs. Read more here.

CARDI recently launched a new report Keeping Active for Better Ageing that examines the factors that encourage more physical activity in older adults with a particular focus on potential policy and practice interventions.

Physical inactivity is the 4th leading cause of death worldwide. Inactivity—that is, an activity level insufficient to meet present recommendations—increases the risk of many adverse health conditions, including diseases such as cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes and breast and colon cancers, and shortens life expectancy.
