HIQA Annual overview report on the regulation of designated centres for older people – 2014

In 2014, the Health Information and Quality Authority (HIQA) carried out 758 inspections of 549 nursing homes, 58% of which were unannounced and 42% announced. Inspections assessed compliance with the relevant regulations and National Standards and made judgments regarding each provider’s ongoing fitness to operate a centre.

Draft National Standards for Residential Care Settings for Older People in Ireland 2014

The Health Information and Quality Authority has begun a nationwide public consultation on new National Standards for nursing homes and residential care settings providing services to older people. Annual overview report on the regulation of designated centres for older people – 2013

The Health Information and Quality Authority has published its first annual overview report on the regulation of designated centres for older people.

The report summarises the findings of the 697 individual inspection reports published by HIQA during 2013, analyses the regulatory activity that HIQA undertook as a result of these findings and provides an overview on the nursing home sector in Ireland.
