Launch of the Keep Control Campaign

The National Centre for the Protection of Older People (NCPOP) at UCD is delighted to announce the Launch of the Keep Control campaign which will take place in the Ashling Hotel, Parkgate Street, Dublin 8 on Thursday 11th December at 11am.
The Keep Control campaign was developed for older people by NCPOP at UCD in collaboration with the Older People’s Empowerment Network (OPEN). The campaign provides information and resources to empower older people and encourage them to protect themselves from financial abuse by keeping control over their money and financial affairs. A Keep Control DVD, website and resource pack will be launched as part of the event.
Speakers will include: Professor A. Deeks, President of UCD; Ms Kathleen Lynch TD, Minister of State with responsibility for Older People; Professor Mary Gilhooly, Professor of Gerontology, Brunel University London; Dr Deirdre O’Donnell, NCPOP at UCD & members of the Older People’s Empowerment Network (OPEN); Mr Paschal Moynihan, Specialist for Older Persons’ Services, HSE.
This event is free and all are welcome to attend; we especially encourage attendance from older people/self-advocates.
